Texas breweries won 19 medals in the 2023 Great American Beer Festival competition and one 2023 Champion Brewery award. Of those who won, two were from North Texas breweries – four less than 2022.

In the Wood- and Barrel-Aged Strong Stout category, Windmills in The Colony takes home the silver medal for Black Market Liver, an imperial stout aged in Acre Distilling whiskey barrels

Bankhead Brewing in Rowlett and Fort Worth, Texas takes gold metal in the Bock category for their offering, Hootnanny, and the bronze metal in the South German Style Hefeweizen category for Hoofer’s Hef.

Congratulations to all of this year’s medal winners and to Saint Arnold for winning the 15,001–100,000 Barrels Brewery and Brewer of the Year award.
