We’re calling episode 180 ‘GABF in the House’, as it features conversations about professional beer judging and house music.
The Great American Beer Festival, or GABF, recently announced the winners of this year’s beer competition. Advanced Cicerone and beer judge Collin Zreet of Funky Picnic Brewery was one of 250 judges involved with rating the beers over nine days. Zreet gives us a glimpse of the judging process and encourages more people to consider becoming beer judges.
Podcaster and author Doug Ziegler is a recent listener of the show. Tony’s episode on house music brought back memories for him and he joins us to share more. Be sure to check Doug out on Brothers in Booze with Greg Washington and The Cult Bar with Renee Pickup. Then, Doug asks Tony about the conspiracies that he’s most interested in. Oh boy – get ready!
Our brews of the week are from Peticolas, Point Remove Brewing Company and Ommegang. We’re listening to SuperBlue, Abel Selaocoe, and Alan Palomo of Neon Indian.
