Dallas-based, 17% Drip, produces the official glassware for the Black is Beautiful beer initiative. The Black is Beautiful tulip glass, produced in conjunction with Pour Character Glassware, sold out within minutes of its online sale. 17% Drip will award their proceeds to the National Black Justice Coalition, a civil rights organization dedicated to the empowerment of Black LGBTQ people.
The Black is Beautiful beer initiative is founded by Marcus Baskerville, co-owner of San Antonio-based Weathered Souls Brewing Company. For companies supporting the effort, Baskerville asks they donate 100% of their product proceeds to organizations supporting equality and inclusion. “Fighting for social justice and change, it’s important to me to end biases,” says 17% Drip owner, Sean Dorsett. “In this time of civil unrest, I’m hopeful for change. I want to donate to an organization that’s fighting for justice for the LGBTQ/SGL community and making black families stronger as a whole.”

The name, 17% Drip, comes from Dorsett’s love for barleywine, a beer with a high alcohol by volume (ABV). Learn more about Dorsett and his brand by visiting www.17percentdrip.com.
