Lakewood Brewing’s Lucky 13th Anniversary Celebration

DALLAS (August 2025) – Lakewood Brewing Company will officially enter its teens this month and is celebrating with beer, music, food, and fun on Saturday, August 16. Marking a lucky 13 years of craft beer in true Lakewood style, the family-owned brewery will bring back OG favorites like Hopochondria, Till & Toll, and debut this year’s annual limited release, Lion’s Share XIII.

Lakewood was founded in 2012 by Belgian-born Wim Bens, an East Dallas resident who discovered a passion for home brewing as a hobby after graduating from the American Brewers Guild. Bens and his family opened the widely popular Garland production brewery, Taproom, and Beer Garden. From his first keg sale on August 4, 2012, at Goodfriend’s, to today, Temptress, the brewery’s flagship, remains the number one selling craft stout in Texas. “We’re so blessed to be part of the growing craft beer community in Texas,” said Bens. “Thirteen years ago, we poured our first beer and held our breaths. What a wild ride it’s been since then!”

Guests receive a tasting card, a commemorative collectible coin, a sticker, and this year’s Lion’s Share glass to sample their way through the tap list, including Lion’s Share vertical tastings, special releases, and other fan favorites.

The 13th Anniversary Bash event will also include a beer poking and a conversation with Wim and Lakewood Brewing’s Brewer Ashton Guerrero, a Martin’s Italian Ice Truck, flash tattoos from Inked by Cherry, live music by The Jacob Price Band, Dead Wax Records spinning and selling vinyl all day, and a pop-up from Sweet Dol-ings featuring baked goods made with Temptress and Temptress Blonde.

Beyond its Temptress lineup, Lakewood’s portfolio includes year-round IPAs, Pony Pils, lagers, and popular seasonal releases, all drawing beer lovers to its Taproom and Beer Garden at 2302 Executive Drive in Garland.
